First Time Visitors

Gainesville Clock Tower

On your first visit we suggest you try Sunday School at 9:30 am,  Worship at 10:30 am and Evening Service at 6:oo pm. We want you to feel comfortable when you visit, so here’s what you can expect in a typical Sunday service.

  • Music: We usually begin with words of welcome and announcements. You will not be asked to introduce yourself publicly or be put on the spot in any way. Then, we spend a few minutes singing as a group. Music at Gainesville First is a mixture of contemporary Christian songs combined with some of the standard and best-loved hymns of the church. The words are always shown on the screen and everyone is encouraged to sing along.
  • Offering: About midway through the service an offering will be taken.  This is primarily for our church members and newcomers are not asked to give in the offering. We are glad you are in the service and we don’t want you to feel obligated in any way to give during the offering.
  • Bible Message: After offering our pastor delivers a Bible based message. There is an outline provided in the worship folder to help you follow along, and the scripture and sermon highlights also appear on the screen at the front of the sanctuary. The pastor’s messages are designed to apply the Bible to our lives today. Often times, the service ends in prayer or another song.

Dress at Gainesville First is a casual atmosphere. Some people choose to wear their Sunday best, while others come in more casual attire. Please dress in whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Services at Gainesville First are designed to be worshipful, community-building experiences that make it possible for all of us to have an encounter with God. We look forward to having you with us soon!
